Other than fashion, something I am also passionate about and have recently been delving more into is reading. I have always been in love with books and reading ever since I can remember. For me, books have always been a way of great escape into the many different worlds and perspectives that exist out there.
With the current state of the world, I have found a lot more time to read recently and it has been a great way to make sure I am taking time out of my day to focus on my mental wellbeing. I believe that with all the media we consume daily, sometimes it’s nice to just take a step back and do something for yourself. I have always felt that comfort with reading.
As stores have been beginning to slowly open up, I jumped at the opportunity to go and visit Indigo. It sounds silly, but I never realized how much I took for granted just being able to browse around the bookshelves and look at all the new and exciting reads. It’s during times like these that I am reminded I should take more time to be grateful for what I have and what I am surrounded with every day.
Quite often the littlest things, like browsing arrays of beautiful bookshelves, make me happy, and I think I need to take more time to appreciate these things in life. There truly is fun to be found everywhere, even in the mundane
If anyone is interested in new reads, I picked up two new books; The Little Bookshop by the Siene by Rebecca Raisin, and More than Words by Jill Santolopolo. If you have not read her book, The Light We Lost, I highly recommend, as it was a truly heart wrenching read. Maybe in the future I may post a book review if anyone is interested, but for now I thought it would be fun to just take you guys on that little bookstore adventure with me
xoxo,
Emma
P.S. Sorry for the longer blog post, I am still experimenting on what works and what doesn’t but I think that is the fun of it all!
I would love to hear your thoughts 🙂
Today’s Look:
It has been killer hot recently, like insane, so I have been living in the most free fitting clothes I have possible. I am not usually a skirt person, but since this weather has been calling for it, I think I am actually loving the look!
The skirt is from Forever 21 and the White boho blouse is from Urban Planet ! I have also been living in my Birkenstocks hehe 🙂
